A great reminder to be calm and deliberate!

This was a great reminder to be calm and deliberate in my parenting! It seems I have a lot in common with Kara's approach to parenting, and the way she wrapped it up and presented it in this book seems so reasonable. Just one example: her suggestion to mirror the behavior you want (if your child is tense, then you relax/loosen your muscles and smile) is wonderful! I have seen it work great with angry kids! She includes lots of other great ideas too. I also liked how reading the book made me want to evaluate my current approach to parenting and see if I could make any improvements.

This is an extremely helpful and insightful book for parents of toddlers and young children! Kara does a wonderful job of promoting gentle, yet effective guidance and discipline techniques. I have already begun to use the tips in my own home, and I can see how they have improved my child's behavior (and my own sanity!) I would definitely recommend this to any parent or grandparent of a toddler.
