Real, insightful, helpful to anyone who has lost a spouse.

Pat takes the reader on her journey through the most painful year of her life-the year following her beloved husband's death. Since her husband and mine died on the very same day, this was a journey through my own pain also. I have probably read 40 books on grief since I lost my husband and I found Pat's book to affirm the gut wrenching pain of a loss like this. Your book is a gem, an incredible gift to those who are grieving the loss of anyone they were really close to. I wish I had it in April of 2010....I looked for this kind of book at that time...one that would speak to the pain that fills each day. It reassured me that I was not alone or crazy. I recommend this book to anyone who is grieving or who loves someone who is grieving, especially the loss of a spouse or partner. Pat allows herself to be honest and vulnerable, sharing the painful pieces of her loss.

A moving true story

What a wonderful author Pat is. I found Grief: The Great Yearning so well written and it shows you, as the reader, the full extent of grief at losing a loved one.
I totally recommend you read this author's books. She has a way with words and knows how to capture her reader right from the start.
Grief: The Great Yearning is an emotional ride and I promise you, you will need a hankie when reading, but I am so glad I have read it and I wish Pat every success with this book.

Yearning

I felt compelled to get through this book as quickly as possible looking forward to the end when I thought I would have an answer. What I learned is there is no answer, right or wrong, that what has happened to me happens to millions of others just differently and I will continue to live.
