Finished this great book, and very much looking forward to the next in the series! It tells of a young girl, who has a far less than perfect upbringing with her parents, and a somewhat abusive, lazy good for nothing father. At times, you want to take hold of Amy, and give her a good shake, and tell her to get a grip and "man up", alongside feeling very sorry for her. Where Amy gets her strength from will always remain a mystery, but she makes you howl with laughter at some of the mistakes she makes, but makes you feel like crying out of pity for her too.
Each turn of the page gives you the feeling of not wanting to stop reading on, as you just know there will be another adventure unfolding. Excellently written and very moreish. This first time author will hopefully be a best seller sometime soon.

Brilliant writing style!

I highly recommend Carmina's book. She uses a mild mannered style of writing to describe unusual events in such a way that made me not want to put the book down! Many will relate to this true story of one who; raised in English poverty and treated as someone unworthy to exist; takes life on. She "nuntheless" leans on God, whom is expressly forbidden, pushing past fears, reaching way beyond what is expected and courageously tackling what must be done! She kept me intrigued throughout the book, smiling, laughing out loud, on the edge and she even made me cry. Get it. Give it. And wait with me for Book Two of the series.

I LOVE this book!

I love this book! This true story about her life as a child and young adult, is a story of determination and endurance in the face of injustice, abuse and hardships. She sets the stage with characters throughout the first half of the book, then delves into adventure after adventure for the remainder of the book. It ends without a cliffhanger, yet still makes you wanting for more! Carmina delivers in this too as she is in the making of her new book "World Cracked Open" series which is coming soon! I hope Carmina is a fast writer! I can hardly wait to find out what happens in the next book!
