Must read for every man - ESPECIALLY FATHERS OF YOUNG SONS

I purchased the book "Two Journeys to Manhood" last night and just finished it this evening. Quick read, but very powerful.
I had to pause at the end of chapter 14 and clear the tears from my eyes. What a blessed and fortunate man Ty is to have a father who was so passionately committed to him. A father who made sure his son knew what it meant to be a man and what to expect as he transitioned from boy to man. A father who rightly prepared his son for life.
I mourn that I was not as fortunate as Ty. I think that is the reason for the tears in my eyes. If only I had such a father, how different my life would have been. How many men are going through life with similar wounds and many totally unaware of what that wound is. I am certainly thankful that my path crossed with Evan for a season and that I had the honor and privilege to know him and at age 46 to experience both a ROPE (Rite Of Passage Experience) and Wild Goose Chase as part of a men's ministry he initiated in Southern Oregon called Wild Hope Legacy. Thanks be to God for raising up men like Evan to bring hope to wounded and lost men and to help fathers raise their sons to be men.
If you are struggling with raisng a son or find yourself as an adult male struggling with what it means to be a man, I encourage you to read this book and then use the resource links provided at the end of the book. There is hope!

Life lessons abound!!

Life lessons through adventure and relationship are shared throughout Two Journeys to Manhood. Evan Hanson shares intimate moments and life lesson opportunities throughout the book. Each chapter presented challenges that taught integrity, built a son's trust in his father and allowed a father to build up his son. Two Journeys to Manhood is a quick read, one which I found difficult to put down. Each chapter was captivating and presented a new challenge for the father and son duo. A must read for all parents!

For anyone who likes a short read but is willing to dig deep and come away with questions, Two journeys to Manhood is a book that you make a man evaluate his life in the same way Evan has evaluated his. First Evan takes you through his personal journey to the discovery of the lost art of manhood, and then takes you through the process in which he passed it on to his son. He explains the necessity of a rite of passage within the Western culture of America, and how it was lost within the modern world. Upon reading this book you may ask yourself some hard questions, and dig deep to find your inner strength and your manhood; you may begin to realize the importance of a father figure and how that can drastically impact someones life for better or for worse; as the plague of fatherless boys sweeps the nation. Be prepared to become profoundly curious to the Journey of manhood that God has in store for this generation and the next, as this book is a catalyst for change in the generation to come.
