Into The Everwood by Melanie Cherniak. A must read! March 15, 2016I just finished this book and couldn't put it down! Lots of suspense, beautiful imagery, fantasy as well as life lessons! I can't imagine how this author conjured up the essence of a childhood fantasy world and transcended into adulthood a real life journey complete with whimsical characters! I would imagine this author will continue Mala's journey in her next book and can't wait! This reminds me of so many life lessons in my own life and I highly recommend it to anyone young or old who love adventure! PS....would love to see this made into a movie!)- Ally

I hope you enjoy reading my first novel as much as I enjoyed writing it. It was an amazing experience revisiting, recreating and re-imagining parts of my childhood and growing up in a small town. I was the kid with her nose in a book and her head in the clouds and writing allows me to be that girl again. Into the Everwood is largely fiction, of course, but you'd be amazed by the parts that are true ;)

Themoment she stepped through the mysterious door, she knew an adventure was aboutto begin. This place... the land wasnot the same as from where she'd just come. It was broad daylight here, whilejust on the other side of the door a midnight sky shrouded the forest. Even theair smelled different; subtle hints of mint, chamomile, and somethingunfamiliar but sweet drifted on the breeze. It was lovely, really. Inviting,even. So much so, that rather than turning back to the weather beaten andheavily scarred wooden door as she knew she should, she stepped further in... or out. Or was it in? It was all rather confusing, and slightly absurd.
It started as a joke, with a hint of a dare.Oh, let's face it, it was a dare wrapped in a joke, meant to evoke the exactreaction from Mala that it did: indignant pride smothered in exasperatingstubbornness. She knew she'd go through that door even before the words lefthis smirking lips. Worse: he knew itas well...
