Sensible and Practical Disciplinary Tips

I cannot agree more to what were shared in this parenting practices book. First of all, it provides a great introduction on the challenges and throughout the book share very practical tips. I especially like the way it presented on the possible challenges and disciplinary tips for different age group. Many a time for first time parent or parent with kid, we overlooked the fact of the right disciplinary action that we should take. At times probably we used the same method thinking that it worked before so should work again. And really unlike other book, this one reminded us the unified front that both parents must have so as not to confuse the child. I especially like the recommendation that the same parent who discipline the child should be the one to embrace the child after that too so that the child know it is done because the parent care and love him/her. What is importance is that it set a great example for the child in his/her future parenting journey.

Practical ways to discipline a child or teenage.

This book explained the most practical and logical ways of disciplining a child/teenage. All the methods of discipline were clearly categorized to different techniques from natural ways, logical consequences right up to physical intervention. I strongly agreed with the Unified Front methods which most parents usually does not realize the importance of this simple method. The steps and tips were useful and every parent should have a book like this beside them if they have a problem disciplining their child/teenage.

I find most useful the materials on common mistakes parents make in disciplining their children, and how the different growth stages a child call for different disciplining methods. A comprehensive coverage !
