About the Author
Josh Walker was born the third of seven children. He was raised in Cheyenne, WY. Growing up, he was a fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After graduating High School, he spent two years in Chile: learning the language and culture, meeting new people, and making lifelong friends. He returned to the United States, working as a family educator. When he went to Chile to visit old friends, he found a new one – the best friend he ever had, Macarena. They have been married for eight years and have two children, a two year old boy and four year old girl. He is currently Creative Story Director for the video game developer, Apixal. When he isn’t writing or working at his day job, he is spending time with his wife and kids.

Fun Fantasy Read for Tweens, Teens, and Adults

I got this book in the mail on Monday morning and by Monday evening I had finished it. And now, on Wednesday, my 12 year old is halfway through. It is engaging enough for an adult, but simple enough for a tween. I love the way this book jumps from past to present tense and I love how it ties into the first book but can also be read as a stand-alone story. I so much appreciate that it is free of bad language and other adult content and can be shared with my kiddos.
"Luke Coles and the Forest Assassin" is a delightful combination of fantasy, science fiction, romance, adventure, and mythology. It reads as a collection of inter-woven short stories spanning several centuries and a half-dozen countries, all without losing historical integrity. Its pages are filled with adventures as experienced by the crew of the legendary ghost ship Caleuche and shared from the perspective of is newest member, a magic mimic who exists to save earth and humanity from the evils that would seek to destroy them.
In spite of a few typographical errors, this book has earned a place on my shelf among my favorites. It is definitely worth the read.

I Needed this series

Part 2 of the Luke Coles Story, although this is a sequel it does not have to be it is an amazing book that can be read as a stand alone. This was just what I needed, I reread the first and then proceeded on a reading binge finishing the second one in a total of about 4 hours. I have even been inspired to write because of them. I have the absolute privilege to know the author personally and all I can say is that he is the most flying author on this side of the Mississippi

Couldn't put the book down!

Josh Walker has outdone himself in this next book in the Luke Coles book series. The story hooks you right from the start, and once again you are thrown into the beautiful setting and rich culture of Chiloe Island, where Luke returns during modern times, as he embarks on a new adventure! I was pleasantly surprised by a wonderful plot twist at the start of the book (not going to spoil it for you all!) This book is a great read, and I was unable to put it down! Now I'm anxiously waiting for the next one!
