About the Author
Barbara Huntress Tresness is an author, disability advocate and founder of CHAT Collective and Ultimate Yu. Her son Graham serves as the inspiration for all of her writing. As a result of a life changing occurrence at the Upledger Institute where she and Graham were part of the dolphin assisted therapy program, Barb began a healing journey and became a certified craniosacral therapist with the Upledger Institute. She started Ultimate Yu with the desire to give back the gift of CST that her family benefited from, and has helped hundreds of clients on their healing journey with craniosacral therapy. Barb's journey to becoming a leading advocate for Nonverbal and Limited Communicators began when her son, Graham, was born with Cerebral Palsy. She witnessed firsthand the challenges of a community poorly equipped to meet the needs of a nonverbal child. Therefore, she embarked upon a worldwide search for techniques, technologies and treatments to help Graham and others with limited communication skills. Graham has touched many lives and telling his story has become her life work. As an advocate, expert, and national speaker, Barb is on a mission to give the gift of communication and hope to the world. Barb is passionate about revolutionizing the way the verbal community socializes and communicates with people that have communication challenges. Inspirational for anyone facing a challenge

Barb shares her and her family's journey with Graham in such detail that after only a few pages you realize that her "stories of hope and the message that you are not alone" are also for readers who are dealing with different types of challenges in their own once "charmed" life. Whether you are dealing with illness, the loss of a loved one, aging and/or ill parents or ______ (you fill in the blank), Barb shows you that hope does exist. I couldn't put it down!

A must read for every parent!

As a fellow author, I know all too well that every book is not for everyone. But Barbara Huntress Tresness' A Charmed Life will strike a chord with every mother. Her unconditional love, support and devotion to her special needs son is an inspiration for all of us. I honestly felt as if it was a privilege to have had the chance to read her story.

A family’s heartfelt story that brings to light so many issues that most will never have to consider. It is powerful and will “stay with you” long after you have finished reading it. Be warned: it’s hard to put down…I ended up staying up half the night to finish it!
