Rachel's head is packed with an outrageous amount of useless Disney trivia. She is terrified of thunder, but not of lightning, and often recites the Disneyland dedication speech during storms to keep herself calm. A fantastic read!

R.L. Naquin ups the ante with Unamused Muse. Wynter is in the Underworld for six weeks acting as a fill-in personal assistant. One of my favorite things about Naquin's story-telling is how true-to-life her stories are. A personal assistant in the Underworld has the same types of responsibilities you would see anywhere else, just more fantastical. More importantly we finally get the answers we've been waiting for. And thought I thought I had it all figured out by the time of the big reveal... I was just slightly wrong and that made the story all the better.
The story is fast-paced and compelling. My only complaint is that there's no really good place to put it down. Luckily, it's a fast enough read that if you go into it well-fed and watered, there shouldn't be any reasons you'd have to pause in the middle.

Surpasses the first book, Recommended!

I found this author through her Monster Haven series which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I was very happy to see that she was starting this new series (Mt. Olympus Employment Agency). For some reason the first book didn't capture my interest as I was hoping it would. However,as odd as it may seem,this second offering was a very enjoyable read and I am glad to recommend it. After a less than stellar performance in her role as a Muse,Wynter is temporarily sent to the Underworld as a personal assistant as punishment. Needless to say things don't go as expect but she meets some great new friends and faces some funny challenges in the dating front. This time I found the storyline interesting and fun. Lots of background on Wynter and sneak peaks into what may come. Exactly what I was hoping for in a urban fantasy series.

I've been eagerly awaiting book two in the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency series by R. L. Naquin. I was so happy to see it released, and started reading it immediately. The series is about a girl named Wynter Greene who hits bottom and then winds up working at Mt. Olympus Employment Agency as a Muse. At the end of book one, Wynter Greene is sent to Hades for six weeks and I knew there would be shenanigans there.
Wynter is filling in for a gal on maternity leave and is basically a personal assistant to Hades. She runs the occasional odd task for him, some of which were amusing, like walking the three-headed dogs, or helping out with the book club meetings which I loved. Then we have the rest of the job which is normal things like answering the phones.
While this is a fun installment I was so happy to see a little more background on Wynter and her mother. This installment really fleshed out Wynter's background and did so beautifully. Another thing I was really happy to see was more face time with the Gods, book one we got to meet one or two, but I wanted more and I got it. I'm excited to see where this series goes, and can't wait for book three. All in all this series is a must-read if you're a fan of Urban Fantasy or mythology.
