A Captivating Story I Couldn't Put Down

I was happy to be offered a review copy of this book because I love stories about books! The story in this book centers around James Justice and his elf friend Puk. James is a talented artist but still can't read at the age of eight. James lives with his loving Grandmother who is the town librarian. His parents are dead and his Grandmother rarely speaks of them so James doesn't know much about his family history.
James is tormented by a schoolteacher who is a child's worst nightmare and the town bully. James does everything he can to escape school to spend more time at the local art museum run by Miss Masters. They form a close bond over art and this is a place James feels safe.
As the story goes on James learns more and more about his ancestry and meets a scary person called a "Saying Slayer". This person clearly hates words and books. James learns to discover his own power and with the help of relatives he didn't know he had he conquers the Saying Slayer and saves words for everyone.
I enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I think parents and children will enjoy it and I bet Harry Potter fans would find this book riveting.

A Classic Struggle

This book for ages 8 and up has a classic theme: the struggle between good and evil and a little boy who saves the day. It also has a good message: the importance of reading and art.
And it is a book you can enjoy reading with your child or enjoy watching them read it for themselves.

"The Worderers and The Meaning Maker" is a book that every boy and girl will love reading. It has the classic theme of the child who discovers his inner powers, when standing against a threatening danger. The book is greatly written and also holds an important message. Highly recommended!
