About the Author
Michael Leavitt has worked with children, teens, and their parents for over thirty years, as counselor, teacher, case manager, and family therapist. He has been affiliated with the Portland Public Schools, Washington School for the Deaf, and The Christie School, and, since 1995, has enjoyed a private therapy practice specifically with parents and teens. He is also a respected teacher of parenting classes on diverse topics, from the fundamentals of parenting to those on living with your teenager which form the basis for this booklet. Michael holds a Master's Degree in Education from Lewis & Clark College, with 20 years of advanced training in human psychology which have deepened his understanding of the essential bond between parents and children. He knows this bond firsthand as the proud father of a 28-year-old son who not only taught him all he knows about parenting but instilled within him a true passion for it. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
