A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE IN OZ!

Just finished reading "Sky Pyrates Over Oz" by Sherwood Smith published by Pumpernickle Pickle Books.
It took about seven years before the third novel in Smith's delightful and fun-filled OZ trilogy found its way into the hands of OZ's and Smith's fans and faithful reader. HarperCollins published the first two books - "The Emerald Wand of Oz" and "Trouble Under Oz" - back in 2005 and 2006; but "Sky Pyrates Over Oz" wouldn't be published until 2013. [While I suspect the back story behind the delay in publication and change of publishers is intriguing, I do believe it's best not to delve too deep into what happened - because the important thing is "Sky Pyrates Over Oz" finally got published!]
The mystery behind Dorothy's disappearance is finally revealed to Dori and Emma when they, along with their father, return to Oz courtesy of a carnival balloon that was magicked to the land beyond the rainbow.
Smith does a wonderful job expanding the fantasy universe Baum created nearly a century ago. Andre Norton was a fan of Oz, and I believe she would have enjoyed reading Smith's Oz trilogy.
